Dice & Dramatics
Author's Notes: Ben Mowbray
Dice and Dramatics was my first attempt at any kind of book, ever. Basically it was a pet project that began as a simple document I aimed to introduce some new players to good roleplaying and it ended up a whole book.
I'd been wanting for a while to make a d20 book, but my previous attempts were aimed at creating "Nine Worlds" a campaign setting based on the incredible world of Norse Mythology, and "Shades of Grey" a homebrew sci-fi/fantasy campaign setting. I decided that I wasn't experienced enough to tackle either project head on, and also I knew there wasn't much of a market out there for campaign settings.
I gave a lot of thought to what kind of book would be successful, and naturally, my mind turned to a guide to better roleplaying. At the time, I was proud of my acomplishment, but looking back, there was alot more that could have been done to make it better. I'm a purist and perfectionist at heart, and I have no doubt that one of these days I'll break out the old original draft and give it a good work over.
